Why We Exist
LifeMessage International is a cooperative of people from all walks of life, both clergy and laity, who desire to run together in the living out of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe in the simple Message of the Word of God that any person can be transformed and completely sourced for victorious life by Jesus Christ through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. Our desire is to preach, teach, and share Christ crucified in every way possible with people, and to invite them to a life of intimate relationship with Jesus, living in constant response to Him and being continually transformed.
A central goal of this discipleship is to relationally facilitate people in the Word wherever they are and to walk with them in relationship so that Jesus may be known and made known in our lives. This heart of relational discipleship may be best expressed by the Apostle Paul in 1 Thessalonians 2:6-12, and especially in verse 8 when he writes, “So, affectionately longing for you, we were pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.” Our calling is in the living out of the message together. This calling seems to be particularly in three realms: Marketplace, Marginalized, and Multigenerational.
Marketplace
Our desire and intent is to go to people where they are and help them to be disciples of Jesus through the Word in the places where they live, work, and worship instead of asking them to come to us. If we are to experience a moving of God in our day across our nation and world, the need will be for disciples who will be the message in their homes, places where they work, communities, schools, churches and groups where they live. We believe in the call and professional training of full-time clergy, but also in the call for all of us to be the messengers of the Word in the marketplaces --- on the streets of our world. To help in this, we desire to bring training in the Word to individuals, groups and churches right where they are through video, Internet, books, and ongoing relationships. Our desire is to be linked in close relationship with people and truly be servants to them in their settings.
Marginalized
The movement of God in times past has been first among those who would be considered on the "margins" or fringes of our society, including the homeless, the hungry, the addicted, and those in jail. We believe in what Jesus can do to bring transformation in the lives of all of us, including these hidden treasures of the kingdom. We also believe in the calling that God has for each of these men and women to be men and women of God --- lights in our world --- and want to offer training and facilitation for them in the Word. We are finding this to be the only hope for true transformation and rehabilitation in their lives, and believe these disciples to have a key role in the spread of the gospel for our day. The marginalized are not our “project,” but brothers and sisters through whom we also are shaped by the life-changing grace of Jesus as we run together.
Multigenerational
We believe in an integrated training in the Word that includes all ages, from children to adults. We are moved and changed by the presence of Jesus as we seek and respond to Him together among multiple generations. We desire to facilitate families and those of any age in the Word. We believe that discipleship is a lifelong process of consistent growing, responding, seeking, and being transformed. We wish to promote and encourage this lifestyle in the Word in children, teenagers and adults in every phase of life.
